Winter weather can be difficult to drive in, as ice, slush, snow, and frozen roads provide different challenges for drivers and their tires. Fortunately, winter tires are engineered to perform in these conditions, and the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EV does that and more for drivers of electric vehicles and hybrids. A studless tire, the Hakkapeliitta R5 EV features Arctic Grip Crystals which act as studs by creating sharp biting edges that enhance grip. A Double Block Grip design on the shoulders improves handling and grip by putting more rubber and biting edges on slippery roads, and the Hakkapeliitta R5 EV's directional tread pattern with angled grooves funnels water and slush out of the tread to reduce the risk of hydroplaning and slushplaning. Made out of natural rubber, recycled steel, and plant derived oils and pine resins to, the Hakkapeliitta R5's low rolling resistance design increases fuel efficiency, reduces environmental impact, and improves vehicle range while SilentDrive technology absorbs road noises and vibrations to creates a quiet, comfortable ride for drivers and passengers for an all-in-one winter driving experience.
